Jake's Place

Our dog Jake is very spoiled. He's just so cute and lovable that I can't help myself. Just look at that face!

I decided to personalize the area where his food and water bowls are. I know I'm crazy. Handyman Hubby already told me. 

I love how it turned out! 

Jake likes it too!

The vinyl paw prints are from Michaels and the self-adhesive letters are from JoAnn's. I used my 40% off coupons and spent about $8 total. Plus, I still have the rest of the adhesive letters that I can use for scrapbooking! 

Please tell me I'm not the only one who does stuff like this for their pets.  : )

Favorite Things Friday - Week 3

It's Friday and you know what that means . . . time for more of my favorite things!

These colorful pots from Wal-Mart are too cute. The price is great and they come in several sizes. They also have watering cans in the same bright colors. Guess which color is my favorite. : )







Chocolate is always a good thing to have! I love the Hershey Nuggets Milk Chocolate with toffee and almonds. I suggest the large family size bag!

I really need to get a few of these lanterns from Pier One for my patio. They have several colors (love the blue!) and sizes.

Shaklee Review and Giveaway

I'm sure most of you have heard of Shaklee Organic Cleaning Products. I have heard of their products but never had the opportunity to try them . . . until now. 


Bonnie from House of Grace so kindly sent me a sample of Basic H2 Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate to try. I just mixed the concentrate with water into 2 spray bottles and was ready to go!

Now is the part when I show you photos of my filthy, dirty house and how clean it is after using the Shaklee cleaners. 


This is my kids bathroom sink. It is really gross but thankfully the dirt doesn't show up too well in the photo.

I love how shiny everything is! The glass cleaner is awesome! No streaks or smears on the glass.


Okay, now this is really embarrassing. I swear we aren't dirty people! This is my kids shower and it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Obviously. I was hoping that the dirt would bother my kids and they would offer to clean it. Ha! I must be crazy! They could care less what it looks like.

Here is my thrift store tray that I keep in the master bathroom. It was lookin' a tad bit dirty. Sorry for the bad photo. My camera is crappy not the best.

Look how shiny and purdy it is now!

The Magic Of Paint

It's no secret that I love to paint. It's so much fun to take a not-so-pretty item and turn it into something fabulous. 


I noticed my outdoor clock and thermometer were looking a bit shabby. I purchased the set from Lillian Vernon about 10 years ago. They really needed a facelift!

For some reason, the thermometer looked worse than the clock. A lot more of the paint had chipped off. 

I brought them inside and gave each a fresh coat of paint. This is what they look like now . . .

They look brand-spankin' new!! 


Now I have a new problem. That faded green light looks really crappy. Not to worry . . . it will be getting a fresh coat of paint soon - if it ever stops raining!

Baby Bunnies

We recently discovered a hole that a rabbit dug in our backyard. Inside were 5 baby bunnies. They are just the cutest little critters!

We've been watching to make sure the mama rabbit is taking care of them. 

Yesterday we had a lot of rain and their nest flooded. They all made it out but were laying in the grass all wet and cold. I brought them inside to warm them up while Handyman Hubby scooped all the water out of their hole. 

The mama rabbit came back later and took care of them. Aren't they just adorable?!

Garage Sale Goodies . . .

. . . I love to shop garage sales. Especially on a gorgeous spring day with my best friend Lori! (yes, we're both named Lori - how cool is that!) We had so much fun and scored some great deals! 

I love the turquoise canning jars! The papers are  actually a bunch of old receipts from a Grain Store. They are dated 1937!! The bowl and urn are from Lori's mom. She knows how much I love turquoise and wanted me to have them. I just adore her mom!


My favorite find is the old wooden box I got for $5!! Here it is on my front porch. I love it!! 


















You just never know what treasures you might find at a garage sale.

Softly Hair Spray is great! It holds well but isn't too sticky. The scent is nice too.

I found these decorative Eco file folders at Target. You know I love my Tar-jay!

Crazy Ohio Weather

. . . Let me just say that we've had the craziest weather around here lately. First, May started out with rain every day for 2 weeks. Then we had record high temps in the mid 80's and turned on the A/C. Now we've been 20 degrees below normal and I had to turn the heat back on!! Crazy I tell ya!


I finally got some flowers planted but my to do list is about a mile long! My front porch is pretty much done except for the rug. It's old and faded but I can't find one I like. I'm also thinking about making a small "no soliciting" sign for the table. 

Our back patio is where I still have tons of work to do.  I got my rug and chairs out but haven't been able to sit outside because it's either raining or too cold!

I am on the look-out for an outdoor coffee table but haven't had much luck. They are either too big or too expensive. I think I'll stalk Craig (and his list) and hopefully can snag one for a great price. Should I go with a square or round table?


Handyman Hubby has been busy with his new power washer. We've talked about getting one for the past few years and finally bought one.

I didn't realize how filthy our sidewalk and patio stones were until he cleaned them! Holy cow they were gross! 

Can you see where he's cleaned the concrete? Aaahhh! That's so embarrassing!!


Okay, enough talk about how filthy dirty my sidewalk was. Look at what we have in our back yard . . .

. . . those are teeny tiny baby rabbits and the mama rabbit built the nest right in the middle of our yard!  They are the cutest little things I've ever seen! It's hard to tell how many there are but so far we've counted 6. The hole is deep so there could be more at the bottom. My daughter Hannah - aka "Animal Lover" - checks on them every day. She wanted to know if we could bring them inside and feed them with a bottle! Too cute!

Favorite Things Friday

Happy Friday!! Here are a few things I'm loving right now.

       I can't get enough of the Avon Foot Works Cooling Foot Spray! It comes in yummy scents like Watermelon, Cherry Ice, Lime Mojito and Tropical Coconut. I use it on my legs and feet in the summer.

Warning! It's addicting!!

The Endless Silky Eye Pens from Pixi are awesome! They come in great colors and are easy to apply. I'm using the BlackCocoa now. You can find these at Target for about $14.

Have you seen these cuties at Bath & Body Works? Mini hand sanitizers with your astrological sign on them! How fun!!






Sorry about the lack of posting lately. I've been dealing with some major stress for the past few weeks. Sick doggie, teenager driving me cray-zay!! and a bunch of other stuff. Hopefully it will all calm down soon. I think I'll go spray my legs and feet with some Avon Cooling Spray right now. Maybe I should spray my whole body!   : )
