Upstairs Hallway Reveal . . . Finally!

It's a good day around here. The upstairs hallway is done. Finally. I can cross one unfinished project off my list! Yeah!

Let's pretend that gross carpet is gone and beautiful hardwood floors are there instead okay. Thanks!  : )

Here is what I did to update and brighten the hallway . . .

Painted the walls Frappe (Valspar paint).

Repainted all the trim and doors - holy cow! This took forever but it looks sooo much better.

Added vinyl numbers to doors. I ordered these from Leen The Graphics Queen. She rocks! They were super easy to apply and can be taken off with no damage to the doors.

Gallery Wall - I shared all the details here.

I planned on painting the gold door knobs with satin nickel spray paint. However, after much discussion with Handyman Hubby we decided to purchase new knobs. We were both afraid that the paint would peel off and we'd end up purchasing new knobs anyway. We found these at Lowe's and they were very reasonably priced. You know I love me some Lowe's!

I spent about $85 on this project. Most of that was for the door knobs. I already had the frames, footstool and paint. Not too bad for a fresh new look.

So there you have it. Aren't you proud of me for finishing a project in a reasonable amount of time?  Ha!

  2. I love it! We are wanting to replace out door knobs as well. I've seen people paint them but I'm a little scared of that as well. A little at a time. Great job! Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. Great job. It always feels so good to make changes. I purchased a new lamp my bedroom and 2 new lamp shades for the living room. I also moved the furniture around and it makes it all feel fresh again. If only I could get on the ball and paint. Happy Thanksgiving.

  4. Stopping by from One Project at a Time to see your hallway reveal. Love what you did with it! Painting trim and doors is VERY time consuming. The numbers are such a cute accent, too! Totally understand about the carpet. We have "hunter green" carpet that is being replaced after the first of the year. So I try to ignore it for now! Great job!
